The Alternative Baseball Organization (ABO) has become one of the most recognized and honored new programs in the metro Atlanta area.  Now there is a growth of this concept which can only be described as a   national movement. With media coverage from all local and even national outlets, the word is spreading to special needs populations all over America.  Affiliated organizations are joining ABO in cities from Boston to Colorado Springs. The vision of Taylor Duncan to create an opportunity for Autistic and other special needs teens and adults to enjoy playing the game of baseball on real teams with real umpires and crowds to share their enjoyment has caught fire and is spreading fast.  From ESPN to Fox, NBC, the Atlanta Braves, and a host of print media, this organization is being recognized as a valuable segment of the local sports in our community.  To view some of the media coverage and see how you can become involved in ABO, go to their website:  www.alternativebaseball.org.   AIU is proud of our association with ABO, and honored to be the exclusive umpire supplier for all of the wonderful events they conduct in Atlanta.  The third annual ABO All Star Game, featuring a blend of current and former professional baseball players with local league special needs players will be held at the New Georgia Sports Complex in Paulding County on November 10, 2018.  For more information, contact Taylor Duncan at 770-313-1762 or email at tcduncan26@gmail.com.
